This is not only a restaurant! It a " home" with big love for any visitor at the kitchen table. Each new and known person part of the beautiful family. The venue excellent! Food fantastic and surely the best place to visit. We fall in love with this place. Very very special place and a must visit!
160km from Bloemfontein, in the Eastern Free State, you will find a quiet little “Platelandse dorpie” called Marquard. Here you will find an eclectic and rustic pizzeria with some of the best pizzas around. Worth a detour in your Eastern Free State Travels
Marco's is a great place to warm up on a cold night. The drinks are reasonably priced, they have a good selection of non-alcoholic drinks and the bacon and avo pizza is to die for. Seriously the pizza is amazing. The Bacon, avo and red onion salad (I think that's what it's called) is basically 40% bacon and great value for money. A really good lunch or even dinner.
Marco's !. . . First time passing through the town of Marquard? Make sure you stop at Marco's for a bite to eat and something nice to drink. This place really sums up what small town culture and vibe is all about, Pizzas are to die for! The atmosphere and vintage objects that decorate this place really is something to take in... I found myself standing and staring, just thinking about how life must have been back in the day of this Freestate Town. Do not pass this place on your journeys through Marquard! Enjoy
Unbelievable good food, you can pick any meal and it's better than good. It is worth to stop and meet the staff.
The best Pizza with home made Parma ham. The best prawns too in the most gourmandelishesous sauce. Atmosphere under a beautiful roof of vines makes you feel somewhat lost in a small Italian village. Great Afrikaans twist on an all ready amazing Italian ambiance. Turn off to the east just close to the weigh bridge at Senekal. Take the 30 km scenic drive and come enjoy this gem.
Probably the best pizza I've ever had! Even during loadshedding, they kept the pizzas coming thanks to their traditional pizza fire oven. The crust was perfectly crisp, the toppings were fresh, and the whole vibe was just amazing. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area — Marco’s knows how to do pizza right.
